Poem At Year's End

from Poem At Year's End by Sofia Talvik

/

lyrics

The last of autumns leaves are falling from the tousles of your hair
Mama bear's returning to the darkness of her lair
Ice crystals are forming on your lashes and your lips
As if the year is but a cup and we are down to the last sips

Wrap me in the comfort of the warm and friendly memories of spring
Of summer skies when snow and ice start covering everything
Let Christmas light the darkness and guide us through the night
Till we step out in the new year, new as the morning light

The world is white around us diamonds laying at our feet
Our shadows painted indigo fallen to the street
The trees are shivering naked in the wind, the flowers frozen into glass

The days keep moving forward, another year has passed
As the days keep moving forward another year will pass
